The 18th session of the Dubrovnik Seminar on Advanced Issues of EU Law devoted to the topic “EU as a Green Leader” will consist of morning lectures sessions, given by academics and practitioners with top expertise in the field, and afternoon research workshops, in which junior academics will present their research and gain valuable feedback. The event will also host a round table discussion, open to the general public and media. The event will bring together well-established academics, young researchers, students, legal practitioners, policy makers and NGOs, thus leading to a multi-perspective critical discussion of the topic.

The 18th Seminar session will discuss the “EU as a Green Leader” in the light of the most recent environmental challenges faced by the EU and the international community. Special attention shall be paid to EU’s legislative amendments in the areas of climate change and renewable energy production and their aptness to serve as global models. EU’s role in the adoption and the implementation of the Paris agreement will also be analysed, especially in the light of the USA’s withdrawal from the Agreement. The event will bring together academics having a deep understanding of environmental action in the EU, China and the USA, which will enable a broader view of the global impact of EU’s environmental law and policy.

The seminar will be held via Zoom.
