We invite you to participate in the event “Climate ambition beyond emission numbers: an inside look from countries and sectors”, organized by IDDRI on September 9th 2pm-4pm CET, where the Green Policy Center has contributed to the description of climate ambition in Hungary!

This event is organized on the occasion of the publication of a collective report coordinated by IDDRI, which includes our organisation as authors. In the report, country and sectoral experts assess the evolution of climate ambition in 26 countries (representing a diversity of size, geography and stage of development), and three hard-to-abate sectors (land-use, transport and industry).

The granular and context-specific analysis of national and sectoral transformations conducted in this report analyses whether there are clear, concrete and credible signs of progress suggesting that the Paris Agreement process can be effective to achieve its collective goals. It highlights where developments have been going in the right direction, where they should be accelerated, and where major tensions remain.

This assessment contributes to the process of collective learning in support of the progressive increase of ambition, by indicating key issues for future conversations as emerging from country and sector perspectives. In this spirit, the 9^th September event will include a discussion with a panel of international experts.
